This is our first show of the 2022 season. I filmed with Steve Delaney in Woodstock, New Brunswick. Steve is an avid angler, guide and owner of Eastcoastangler.ca. We had a blast to say the very least. The Jackall ReRange really put them in the boat today. I misidentified mine on the show and it is a ReRange Secret Shad II.
We started our day right under the town bridge in Woodstock and both of us nailed a beauty Smallmouth on our first cast. I was fishing a Jackall ReRange 110 to start and Steve picked up some on one of his own hand made underspins with a boot tail swimbait on the back. Something to keep in mind for another day.
We fished different spots in the Keg and out into the main river. We had a pretty decent five mile an hour current going for most of the day. We were both throwing ReRange 110′s and Steve mixed it up a bit with some tubes and a crankbait. We were both fishing 7″ M Shimano rods and 2500 series reels. I was using mono for the jerkbait but the rest were Power Pro Super Slick 2 with leaders. We caught a bunch of fish and Shawn was able to put the camera down and get his line pulled as well.
It was a great spring day on the water with a great guest. We had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to sharing a boat with him again. My favourite photo of the day was the bass that Steve was getting ready to release and it flared it’s fins for a nice shot. Next stop is for Striped Bass on the world class Miramichi River.
